Ok,

my apologies for forgetting this site - its now stored in my favourites once again after i lost it from the previous PC crash.

my equipment are as follows

PC: Quad core 2.4GHZ w/8gb RAM
2TB hard disk
M-audio Delta 1010LT soundcard

Hardware i have
M1 Alesis 520 active monitors
Behringer powerplay pro-XL headphone distribution amp
M-Audio Audio buddy preamp
SE Electronics SE2200a condensor microphone
an assortment of dynamic mics
M-Audio Axiom 61 Keyboard
Headphones etc

Software i use
Nuendo
Reason 4
Adobe Audition

I want to chop this all in and go for the iMac with Logic or even pro tools, but ideally logic because thats what i used at college when i did my music tech degree

Originally, all i used to do was make hip hop music and instrumentals

now i want to change and make more pop/dance songs, involving a lot of keyboard/piano and a lot of guitar.

I also want to create some like DNB/dubstep, just change it up and get with the times a bit..

Now i know i can keep most of what i've got when i move over the iMac however i will need a soundcard most importantly, can you recommend one? i wont need anything like the 1010lt as i wont be recording any bands or anything it will just be me

other than the soundcard, i think i SHOULD be ok to start recording again, however i know that it might be worthwhile checking into upgrading some of my bits and bobs that i have..

im thinking perhaps my monitors would need changing as the only thing that bugs me about these is there inability to pick up really deep basslines and obviously with dubstep im gonna need that! can anybody recommend any good ones? or anything else that they would change about my setup?

thank you very much in advance!

Luke.

You won't be sorry switching to a iMac Quad core i7 and Logic... You will wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

thanks kmachman

thanks for the other post in the other thread too about the presonus firestudio mobile

i was gonna post this comment in that thread but then i thought id post it in here as it has all of my equipment listed;

the firestudio sounds awesome to me...i will definitely look into this - i think i might look for something that is "rackable" so i can buy a rack to put all my other equipment in as it looks neater...

any suggestions for something along the same lines but that is able to be stored in a rack?

like 4 inputs or something...
