Multiple Mics in Cool Edit Pro

Hey Guys wuts up?

I am just starting out with recording my band and im trying to figure things out with Cool Edit Pro. When trying to record drums im planning on using 1 Audix D6 bass drum mic with 2 Shure SM81s as overheads (depending on how well i can get this to work i may mic the snare as well, havent decided on mic). Im running these mics into a M-Audio Fastrack Ultra that has 4 inputs. My question is how do i get Cool Edit Pro to recieve and record a signal from each mic individually? For example Line 1 would be the bass drum Line 2 overhead1 and Line 3 overhead2. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated!

In the left hand side of the multitrack view, there is a little button for each track that says In. Press that, and you can select what will be the input for that track. If that is too basic an answer, let me know...

Imho, you have some nice gear and would be doing yourself a favor by upgrading to software that actually supports ASIO. There are free options that have more functionality than CEP nowadays (I am an old CEP guy). Realtime VST effects is enough reason alone.

On your question, it should be like you said. Kick = Mono1/Input1 etc.. Arm all three tracks and record.
