Where is your headphones plugged into? or your monitors plugged into?

Are you talking about monitoring right when you're making the track, or after, when you're playing back the track?

Sounds like there may be a stereo button on the device, or,

you may be trying to record the signal into a stereo track, when you're actually making a MONO signal. Try creating MONO track, to record into, and see if that helps.

To record onto a stereo track, you need 2 sources. input1 and input 2. If you're only plugging in 1 source (mic) then you're MONO.

Or, the stereo/mono thing. I'm not sure where you're getting the signal from, into the monitors / headphones, so I can only guess.

Thx bro
my concern was that if i record my vocals in Mono that it meant the vocals would only play on one speaker.
as u can see im new to this. im a Rapper not a producer or engineer,so my questions might sound crazy.

ha, no problem. we've all been there. I too was perplexed by this, but it's all good.

The software will make each MONO signal go to both speakers. Then you can control how much off from center, using the PAN setting. This makes a track more left, or more right. Like, you could make one copy of your vocal track slightly left, with a little phaser on it, then have copy 2 of vocal track slightly right, with a little reverb on it. mmmmmmm, reverb.

Don't worry about seemingly dumb questions, as this group on here is pretty understanding and low-hostile.

Have fun.
