Signal bleeding on Behringer 602mx mixer

Hi everyone,
I've been recording intruments and vocals into my soundcard via Behringer 602 mixer. I've noticed every now and then that while recording acoustic guitar or vocals, the track also records the rest of the song/tracks that are played through to my headphones/control room. I originally thought the mic may be picking up the signal, but when it is turned off or I am recording guitar directly (straight into the mixer)I still record the other instrument tracks at low volumes.

Is it possible somewhere within the mixer the recorded signal is picking up the headphone/control room signal and is there any way to eliminate this?

Thanks

that's what happens when you have the 2TK TO MIX button depressed. when you're listening to what you've recorded before in order to monitor the mix while tracking a new instrument, you've got to use the 2TK TO CTRL ROOM function. that will make it so that whatever is coming in through the 2-TRACK IN will show up in the PHONES jack and the CTRL R OUT jacks.

The 2tk to ctrl room was depressed for these recordings. The other instruments recorded are quite low in volume, so somehow, somewhere the signal is being picked up by the armed track.

Thnks again

Love to help, but to be honest the only bleed I have experienced is simply from my headphones. Recording a vocal track with the singer listening to the song in headphones, I will get some bleed if I am using a very sensitive mic like an NT1 or Octava 319. I do stay away from using the 2TK in and outs on my Behringers. I havn't taken the time to look at the circuit path, but the 2TK is a little wierd and not the best sound quality. Having said that; That comment may not apply to your mixer as I have the 1604 and the MX9000, so I am not intimately familiar with the 602.

i don' t know if he's using the MX or UB series, but i use the MX802A, and i never get any bleed from my 2TK TO CTRL ROOM button. i do get bleed that is significantly quieter than what is being tracked if i include the 2TK TO MIX button.

what you're saying about the headphones is true too. it's frustrating when the click track bleeds through when the drummer is tracking...perhaps i should just buy better headphones!
