Mar 12, 2010 01:38 pm I have a home studio with some cheep classic gear. My Mixer is a Soundtech Sl-16. I'm trying to hook up a Zoom 505 Gtar pedal to it. But I get way to much distortion at all volume/preamp levels. I've tryed for hours at both ends to get a happy med. But I can't. I also have a Alesis Sr-16 drum Mach. that I have that works fine. I'm using 1/4 jacks on both ends. Do you think I need a Box or an impedance plug for the 505? |

Mar 13, 2010 02:38 am If you're going from the output of the 505 (which should be LINE level) to a LINE input on the mixer, then it shouldn't be out of whack. Have you turned down the gain for that channel when using the 505? The 505 may have it's output turned way up, and the SR16 may have it's output turned way down. I'm just thinking out loud here . . . I know you stated that you've tried for hours, but I don't know what you actually tried, so forgive me if I ask un-useful questions. |

Mar 22, 2010 06:17 pm I've tried turning the gain down on both ends and still get the same results. Not sure what to do. everything else works fine. Mics, keys....Just zoom 505, 504 and 506 pedals will not work in the 1/4 input for the channels. I even tried other channels thinking I have a bad one and it does the same thing. Any suggestions? |

Mar 23, 2010 01:59 am Does the zoom have some kind of amp modeling or preamping of its own? that would definitely not play well with the mixer channel which is also a kind of preamp. Try running through ur patch on the zoom and taking off any amp emulation or preamping. Try running the pedal in a kind of complete bypass mode if possible. Hope this helps. |
