Hey Everyone,
I just recently got Cool Edit Pro 2.1 and I am having some trouble with it. I have been using Pro Tools 8 LE on Windows XP for a while and have had no problems with it picking up my devices. Im wondering what I need to do to get everything such as playback, picking up my interface, mic, and anything else so I can start using Cool Edit Pro. I was not sure if I have to have Pro Tools up and running in order to make Cool Edit work? Here is what I am working with:
Digidesign Mbox 2 Interface
Fostex PM0.4 MK2 Monitors
Behringer Truth B2092A Active Subwoofer
Blue Baby Bottle Condenser Mic
M-Audio Axiom 61 Keyboard
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Mar 10, 2010 10:52 am I'd normally say "it's in the manual" but in this case you "recently got" a program that's been discontinued for 7 years.
Maybe you should just try Reaper or something.
Mar 10, 2010 02:17 pm Once again I can always depend on MassiveMaster. I only tried Cool Edit Pro for messing around with vocals. Is Reaper good for that or is there something better? I have Auto-Tune but I am always looking for other things to try out.
Mar 10, 2010 10:56 pm "Something better" is subjective and to some extent, budget-sensitive.
But Reaper will certainly get from point "A" to point "B" without much drama. That said, so will Pro Tools.

Mar 11, 2010 12:33 am I would personally stick with PT, it can and does everything most people need it to do. CEP is the same type of program (DAW) . If you're looking for plugin's try KVR to see if they have any free plugins. That being said finding compatible (free)plugins for PT can be a pian, unless you spring for the VST wrapper.

Mar 11, 2010 01:09 pm Cool edit does not support ASIO as far as I know, thats enough reason there to go with Reaper or stick with PT.
Mar 11, 2010 04:41 pm Ya it's best I stick with PT and keep learning about it. Thanks everyone.
