yamaha keyboard sounds not playing in logic????? please help =[

I JUST HOOKED UP MY YAMAHA PSR-640 INTO MY FIREFACE. IT WORKS FINE PLAYING THE LOGIC SOUNDS.BUT THE PROBLEM IS I WANT THE SOUNDS THAT THE KEYBOARD HAS TO PLAY IN LOGIC DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO DO THAT?

Sure thing Steve, though Caps Lock is considered yelling in internet speak, so not all in caps would be polite.

I'm thinking you connected your keyboard to PC with a MIDI cable (round plugs, with 5 pins in the connector). This sends MIDI data, instead of PSR sounds. To send the PSR sounds to Logic, you'd want to use a PATCH cable, that has 1/4" plugs on both ends, or whatever ends will fit into the jacks on the PSR and your computer (not sure what computer, or what soundcard/interface).

Then in your software, tell it to listen on the audio INPUT, instead of a MIDI input. Arm the track, press the big red R, and record your masterpiece =).


I hope that helps, and I was close in my assumptions.
