As the topic slightly suggests, there are 'No-Brainer' deals from www.audiomidi.com. They currently have 2 no brainer deals that I couldn't pass up and you guys may be interested as well.

Steven Slate Drums EX. Well regarded drum VSTi, 4.5g, 20$us. They've (SSD) had some DL issues, since many people are taking advantage of this deal, but they're still improving the server bandwidth / capabilities to satisfy the demand.

Amplitude 2 Live. You all kinda know what this is. 3 amps, 13 stomp boxes, 3 cabinets: 15$. There's a bass amp in there, so it's kinda nice for at least that.

There's a few other deals as well, Breverb : 15$ and some synth I don't know.

They won't last for long, so get involved while you can, if you can spare the $$$.

These are downloads only, the IK AMP is like 12m, but 4.5g for SSD is quite a whollup.

It looks like they're mostly scaled-back versions of the software. But even then, each one of them has enough functionality to justify the cost.

For instance, the Breverb plugin only has the room and plate reverb models available. You have to pay $250 to upgrade to the full version from what you get with the AudioMIDI version.

The drum VSTi has several kits, and they all seem pretty cool, especially to someone that doesn't have a drum VSTi already. But it is an EX version, upgradable to the full version for a fee. But heck, $20 for a plugin and several kits is pretty good.

Same goes for the synth they have there, it's missing a few components that you can get with an upgrade.

I didn't look at Amplitube, but I'm kinda tempted. it'd be nice to be able to scratch some stuff down upstairs on my computer since my studio computer fried and I have to move everything downstairs every time I want to track electric guitar. PITA. It'd be kinda cool to have Amplitube upstairs to dink around with for scratch tracks. For $20, its hard to resist.

Thanks for the heads-up PJK!

Yeah, like I said, the AMP is only 3 heads: 1 clean, 1 crunchy, and 1 bass. and there's 3 or 4 cabs, though I can't remember which right off.

I had just re-installed the Amplitude UNO like 1 night before, and diddled around with that. It's not too bad, though I have a heck of a time tweaking amp sims. I tend to always get the 'sand in a blender' setting, so i'm still working on it. =).

The EX slate drums have like 13 or 14 kits. I've heard a bit about them on their site, but I'm gonna install tonight and hopefully get it all working.

15$ for the amplitude. =).

Yeah, I couldn't resist grabbing Amplitube 2 Live. I'm installing it as I type. The registration/installation process is a huge runaround, but it seems that I've reached the end of the winding road of emails, websites, user IDs, and serial numbers. We'll see!

I'm contemplating grabbing the drums. I dunno, the price is right and they can't be anything less than par with what I have now (Protean Drums from EMU). It might be worth at least having a 2nd avenue for getting drums into my projects.
