found an old thread where someone was asking members if they had the capability to mix a DAT down to cd. i'm in the same boat. found an old DAT from an old band of mine and would really like to recover that show.

what do you think this service would cost? i assume the DAT is maybe 40 or 60 minutes. i guess i could post an ad on craigslist, but i'd rather send it to someone i know, like one of you guys maybe. this would happen later in the spring, as the DAT is elsewhere right now. just checking to see if anyone's interested

Who DAT?

Okay - I'm kidding. But I (still) have DAT decks. If you don't hear from anyone else, look me up. I can pull it off direct (digital out to PCM digital data stream) and bypass the 90's converters.

Yeah, I still have a DAT machine laying around, I have tried to sell it, but damn, can't get anything for these things any more.

If it's 'low priority' (not the lost Beatles sessions or what not - and if I can "get to it when I get to it") I could probably just slap a $1/minute fee on it and upload a single PCM file.

Doesn't quite cover the cost of maintaining the DAT decks, but they do seem to be going out of style...

doin' meh, db. [edit] how're you?

yeah MM, no lost sessions here. this was recorded sorta almost decently in a sorta studio by some sorta audio engineering students. so basically, whatever's on the DAT is what i want, as is. if i had a DAT machine myself, i'd press the play button and record it as-is, as a single track. then later i would break it up into tracks.
