MIDI Sound Delay in Cubase

Hi,

This is driving me absolutely insane and I do not know what to do!!! I have a MIDI Keyboard (Evolution MK-361C) that I'm connecting via USB to Cubase 4 and I the programe signals that theres an input and there is sound but there is a delay in the sound and I find it impossible to play anything with such a delay!!!

I am using the standard Realtek HD soundcard the laptop (Vista Home Premium) came with and there are no options to change the buffer size in the preferences...

I've had a search on the internet about how to sort this out and I did download that ASIO4all program and although that appeared to have reduced the buffer size I had no sound!!!

How on earth can I solve this problem?

Thanks in advance!

First, is the controller being powered over the USB or plugged into the wall...if you are using USB power, try getting power from a wall plugin...I have seen that make trouble at times for me.

Secondly, you may very well need to invest a little into a better USB interface...those Realtek's are made for mp3 playback and gaming, not recording.
