Can someone tell me how to get cubase to recognize the new vst plugins i have placed in the program files folder. I know this step I have done correctly, but am lost on how to scan for them or whatever you may need to do.
Thanks!

Jan 12, 2010 05:24 pm Go into cubase, devices (top bar of the screen), Plug in information. From there you hit either update or VST2.0 paths. Also, there's actually a seperate folder called "VST Pluggins" (i think thats the one). Not program files. But that being said there's no reason you can't put the VST plug in anywhere you want and locate it with the "VST2.0" paths thingy in that plug in information place i mentioned earlier.

Jan 12, 2010 05:54 pm Yeah, agree w/ Fragile. Cubase should have a folder that it looks into for VST dlls, commonly \program files\vst plugins or something like that.
Put your DLL into that folder, then somehow tell Cubase to scan for new VSTs, then they should come up.

i dont want to sound stupid but make shure that the new pluggin is inside the pluggin folder in cubase and not in the main cubase folder.
you will be able to see the named pluggin flash by in the cubase starts up box when you start cubase!!!
hope this helps
