Hi guys,happy new year!
Firstly im not sure how possible the following is so any suggestions or advice would be more than welcome.
Im using cubase and i have a standard midi keyboard.I was wondering if its possible for me to use the sampler in cubase to take an mp3 track/song in my collection etc and then split it into various parts and play each part from a different note on my midi? Im aiming for that old school kanye west type of sound.
Thanks in advance.
Dean

Jan 03, 2010 04:53 am First off, laugh out loud for calling Kanye West old school. But to answer your question, I'm pretty sure it's possible. I don't have cubase, so I can't exactly tell you how to do it, but I'm pretty sure it's possible.
Jan 03, 2010 08:54 am Lol,i didnt mean kanye was old school.i was referring to his old sound,as in "it cant be life" from the roc la familia album from jay etc, rather than the new sounds hes experimented with since then!

Jan 03, 2010 09:58 am I dont know if its possible in Cubase, but im 100% its possible using Reason and Recycle, which obviously could be rewired (thats alot of re's) to Cubase then it would "usable" in Cubase
u can search youtube and such for tutorials on how to use Recycle and Reason to create samples like that

yes you can do it in cubase as i do it myself!!!
it depends on you having a sampler in your vst instruments/pluggins,
it took me awhile to get my head around things but it worth it, dont go down the reason and recycle road there are easier ways to do it
what version of cubase do you have??
