Which MBOX? I can't remember if there's a MBOX that has 4 channels or not.

If it were me, I would connect from the mixer's channel inserts. Plug a 1/4" mono patch cable in the insert for a channel up to the first indent : not all the way. If the mixer has direct outs, then even better, use them and plug all the way in. Plug the other end of 2 of these cables into the line inputs on the mbox.

This will do two things:

1) tap signal from your preamp RIGHT AFTER the preamp, not at the end of the mixer signal chain.

2) free up the rest of the mixer for monitoring duties, which it's good for.

Assuming the MBOX is 2 channel, then you'll have to think about connecting the triton at same time as doing vocals. The triton will be stereo out, which would take your ch1 and ch2 on the mbox.

If you're doing them separately, then you should be good. Just connect the patch cable to the insert jack (or direct out) for the channel you're using.

To hear what you're singing against, connect 2 cables from the mbox outputs to the last stereo pair on the mixer (15/16, i'd guess). Then plug your monitoring solution into the MAIN OUTS.

You can now control overall volume with MAIN fader, control playback volume with mixer channel 15/16, and control incoming signal volume with individual channel fader. This won't affect the signal getting recorded to the PC, because only the gain knob controls the incoming signal level.

For that, set the gain correctly (gain staging) and leave it alone, control monitor volume with other volumes (faders).

I've been doing this setup for awhile, and it's worked quite well.

Hope that helps.
