Im using Yamaha HS50M's and was just wondering should i just get the sub that is built to go with them, or upgrade to the HS80's

the ones i have now have 5inch woofers and the 80's have 8 inch speakers. I think the Yamaha HS10M (the sub) also has like a 8 or 10 inch speaker but its a dedicated sub

my room is untreated btw if that factors into the equation, but im looking for a better grasp on bass dont know the advantages or cons to each selection

all i know is an untreated room, and depending on how big the room is also, will be crazy with a sub.

I was considering a sub a while back but i think my room is too small and the treatment isnt extensive enough.

yeah thast wat i was thinking as well, but it actually makes me the think the 80s will be even worse since instead of one source for the low freqs im gonna have two sources pumping from two directions that arent even as dedicated as the sub

I'd just put the money for the sub into some broadband panels.

You'll generally hear much more low end in a room that traps the excessive low end reflections...

Most of my panels are held in by friction only (although I generally put a small safety-line on the top ones).

Obviously, the ones hanging on the walls, the could, etc - Those are 'fixed' hard -- But the corner traps stay in place with gravity.
