Dear Mods (or anyone!)
Just downloaded a WONDERFUl pdf. It's called 'The Art of Mxing and Mastering' by David Gibson, there's over 300 pages of it and it explains things in lucid clarity all the way through (well, I've got as far as p.34 so far and it's STILL wonderful!)
Now it WAS on a Public Domain .PDF site. But I'm lucky to have it because it vanished about 4 hours after I downloaded it - told a guy about it and he said it was 404. Checked and yup - it's gone. (May still be on another site, but there's so many out there....)
I'm happy to post a 4Shared link to it, if that's OK with the mods here. If not, if it vanished because of a whiff of skull'n'crossbones, then please forget I wrote this!
It would sure answer a LOT of the questions being asked about mixing/mastering, though.
Yours respectfully
Chrisulrich

Nov 24, 2009 03:29 pm I'd like to take a look. though I don't want you to be posting something that's owned, and not in PD / free / etc.
Nov 24, 2009 04:59 pm Looks rather suspect to me....
"Public Domain" .pdf sites aren't always as careful as they should be. Like a lot of other places, they just play dumb and only take stuff down when someone raises a stink.
It seems to me that you have a pirated version of a copyrighted book, and therefore should not post a link here.
Just one guy's opinion...

Nov 24, 2009 06:22 pm Yep, that is the book. I had read about the .pdf being out there on a couple sites that claimed to not know that it was not public domain material.
But there is only one David Gibson that published a book with that title.
So I would say that would not be a good idea to put it up for download as it will only get you spanked for distributing non PD material.
It is a good book though as you stated.

Nov 25, 2009 12:19 am i got that book. i gotta be honest though, i dint find it that informative.
i found some things ok, but a whole lot of pages with pictures.
if the book was 15 bucks it'd be worth it.
