I am debating on which to get? Either Hercules MK2 or the Steel with Native Instruments Audio 2.
Any input WILL be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott

Nov 22, 2009 08:45 pm While the MK2 is a good control the Steel is a bit better, but with a different type set up. While the MK2 gives you actual audio i/o the Steel does not. It is strictly a control surface and needs the PC or Mac with an interface for its output.
I will say the the Steel does give you much more control though over the software for sure. The controls are much more refined on the Steel as well.

Nov 23, 2009 12:32 am Do you think the Audio 2 will be a good choice for the Steel?

Nov 23, 2009 04:45 pm The RMX will give you the anolog i/o that isn't available on the Steel. I'm not sure if it will also function as the audio interface or not. Can't get onto Hercules page at the moment to look at the spec's and no one else has them listed.
As for use, I've not seen or used that one yet so I can't comment on anything other then the analog i/o on the unit.
As for the Audio 2 interface from NI. Its an easy to use and stable piece of gear. It works well from what little I have seen and seems to have extra gain on the outputs for getting things really bumpin I guess.
