so yeah, after a few months of tuckin' away money i finally sprung for a Presonus Firestudio Project....without hesitation, i grabbed the manual and began installation....updated drivers afterword, then bam brick wall...it doesn't "sync" with my computer....after a bit (no pun intended) of investigation on their forums, presonus openly declairs their interface is NOT 64 bit compatable....."drivers are in workings, and will be coming soon"

folks, this is 2009 and 64 bit computers have been around for some time, windows 7 is out, why the HECK wouldn't they have some kinda driver for 64 bit systems available by now???

i'm e-mailin' them and if i don't have a diver on my computer in two weeks, i'm sendin' the mofo back, and gooin' with an alesis or somethin'.....

just goes to show, i shoulda did my homework before purchasing...as this is a known issue for this particular product.

integrated soundcard, here i come again.....one day i shall record again....one day.

Man, talk about disappointment. I always considered Presonus to be one of the more reputable makers too. Bummer for them to be so slow at releasing updated drivers in this day and age. Caveat emptor I guess.

so my roomate (also an IT ninja) says should just go 32 bit with windows, since i only have 3Gb of ram, i'm really not needin' to run 64 bit.....

so this means uninstallin' then re-installin' (prolly vista 32, is there a 32 bit version of windows 7?)

I sure wouldn't go with vista.

but w7 does look like 32bit as well:

Actually they do have the universal driver which is supposed to work with XP or Vista 32 and 64 bit. I've only run it with 32 bit XP but it works fine with that. I don't think it works for windows 7 at all. They are very slow about coming out with drivers so I don't know when they'll come out with some for windows 7. If they take too long I might sale mine and buy something else.
