Actually we have it here too. I don't use it much as a messenger though my fiancee does. We primarily have it on her laptop for the VoIP feature as opposed to paying a monthly phone bill for a land line phone. A major downside, is that you can't use the skype phone for emergency numbers (but we both have our cells for that)

I've not had any stability problems with skype on either her vista laptop, or my xp machine, so I dunno what the problem there might be.

I'm getting ready to install a camera and Skype so we can chat with Tuna in Korea.

Bleak and I were trying to get something together a year or so ago on Skype as well. I think now would be a good time to try it out this weekend maybe. I'll let you know since I'm and insomniac and can cross the time zones with ease.

Herb and i had chat a while ago.

It works incredibly well, particularly with the sound cards we all have.

I use my M-audo for input and my Creative card for output. Its just about radio quality (connection speed permitting).

I'm happy for anyone to add me - bleak_7

DB - If you ever want to add a skype option in a users profile you might find something here developer.skype.com/

I'm not sure I want to see what a bunch of ugly mugs you guys are...

That said, I have used Skype, and it does work remarkably well. I'm told I can use the audio portion of it with my iPod Touch and the little "Push Pin" microphone that I bought for it. I haven't tried it yet...

I often use 'fring' as well.

If you have a compatable mobile then this is a great tool.

My phone connects to my wi-fi as soon as it's in reach so it's seamless.

check it out
