They should work together no problems. I used to use a combo of spybot and adaware to clean up what virus software did not.

I use AVG and Spybot at the same time on multiple machines and have no issues with them ever interfering with each other. I do notice that Spybot finds quite a bit more spyware than AVG does, but AVG is a good anti-virus program - especially for free.

AVG is great at what it does, virus scanning...spyware, malware, etc...not it's thing, AVG, Spybot and AdAware is a great trifecta of protection for any PC and it costs you exactly NOTHING.

of course, having a hardware based firewall on your router doesn't hurt either.

I as well have been using the full arsenal like that for years. The boyz box in the worst times ran AVG, Spybot, AdAware, HiJack this and sygate firewall. All free and all worked well together.

Oh, and nice find dB. H had some interesting bits there on Vista. I chuckled though as he fumbled around not knowing were the windows defrag was. Good solution though, he just googled it.

I'll have to check it out a bit more then. I just kinda gave it a quick look and watched the video's.

I think those get the point across rather straight forward.
