Routing causes echoing sound for Nuendo 3

Hi I just bought a Nuendo 3 and connect it with AudioFire12. I use Quad Eight Coronado as the mixing console.

My question is that I always have problem listening to my headphone every time I use the same input & output routing at my mixer setting. The sound makes echo at record but actually its okay when I play it back. The funny thing when I change it to different route it went smoothly record and play (ex: Input routing: Stereo In 3, Output Routing: Stereo Out 4) OR with the same input output routing but I mute my output at my mixer console.

I found it annoying as I always have to look back and forth at my comp to find out which output routing I set then go back again at mixing console to adjust as actually I should be able to use same number to be at ease.

Anyone have the same problem before? Thanks.

just found out the same echo if I didn't mute my correspond output at my mixer console even though I use different Input / Output routing. weird.

Are you sending the outputs of the audioFire to the mixer?

This console?

If so then you simply need to route the channel('s) you are recording to the AudioFire via a separate buss or aux rather then using the main output of the desk.

BTW, sounds like theres some sort of monitoring option on the Audiofire or in Neundo that you've enabled. If you change the buffer size does the echo get bigger or smaller respectively?

hi again! been very busy and i'm neglecting this topic! (not by choice). so sorry.

Noize: Yep, that's the one and yes I did use separate bus already and still have the same problem. Turns out I realized that the engineer enter "ASIO multimedia driver" instead of Echo Firewire which causes the lag. but then new problem exist, the sound does comes out beautifully yet dont display anything on the mixer display of the Nuendo. So I've checked with the site and they recommend me with the latest driver for Echo. Bingo! Problem solved.

colonel_sanders: hehehe it does look sweet eh? yes changing the buffer size does differ the echo. I use 512 samples now and it works beautifully.

hey thanks a lot guys for the inputs. Hope those who have the same problem find this useful. Cheers!
