How the heck do I hook this up?

I just bought a Behringer Ultra-Q Pro PEQ2200.

So now how do I hook it up to my PA? I have an old Kelsey 12 channel board if that helps.

Well, it really depends on the usage you want from the thing. The two main ways you could set it up are as follows:

1. Have it on the "Main Out" Insert Points - if your desk doesn't have any Main out Insert Points, then you can quite happily place it on the Main Outs (it's only really dynamics units that obviously suffer from not being on insert points). This setup will let you EQ the entire signal from your desk which is obviously helpful in live situations where you need to tweak the overall mix.

2. Place it on channel insert points - this will allow you to use this EQ unit instead of the EQ on your channels.

jues.

Well, yes. I want to EQ the whole board. But how do I put it on the main outs when I use 2 (left and right) and there is only one input and one output on the EQ?

There's only 1 input and output on the EQ unit... oops, looks like you've gotten hold of the wrong thing then mate.

Your only option is to hard pan everything to one channel (Eg: right) and the connect the Right Output of the desk into the Input of the EQ and then the Output of the EQ into the PA Rig's Mono Input.

However this is a long way from ideal as everything will be in mono. I think you need to ditch this unit on ebay and get hold of a stereo graphic EQ, because it sounds like that's what you are really after.

Then perhaps I will make my way down to the music shop tonight and see if they will trade this for a used stereo graphic EQ. I had a feeling I got the wrong thing when I pulled it out of the box. Oh well.
