Lexicon Omega driver uninstalling problems.

I know that a few people have had problems with these, I was wondering if any have encountered the same ones as me & if there is a solution (other than buy something that isn't cheap & rubbish!!).

I use my Lexicon Omega with Cubase SX 3 & have been using it for just over a year or so. Initially no problems at all. Recently though it's a different story. The hardware seems to 'unmount' during playback from time to time. Normally restarting the system works, but I have had to uninstall & reinstall the drivers to get it running (all be it temporarily).

Basically the lexican driver is still available from the drop down list in cubases device setup, but when you select it (when it's unmounted it defaults to another driver) it can't see the device as being connected, even though it is, all the lights are on & it's registering sound.

Any thoughts? It isn't the newest PC around, but this is the only problem I have with it, so I'm inclined to think the problem is omega based.

Thanks for reading.

tthe Lexicons do this kinda stuff.
they are riddled with problems. for this unit to be still on the market is criminal.
I cant believe they are allowed to still sell them.

im surprised you used for a year with no problems.
i went thru 3 units before they gave me money back, and they all did a similar thing to yours. mine kept disconnecting from the computer and the little blue light kept flashing. it does this when its losing its connection with compy.
among alot of other things. what to do about it? im not sure you can do anything.

Do you know what the specs of your PC are, CPU speed and amount of RAM? That would really help.

The Lexicon gear seem to be very picky as to how and when they run. I know a few people have had no trouble once it is installed correctly. Others have never gotten them to run at all.

Did you follow the driver install exactly as it is written? Do you have the latest driver's from the Lexicon website?

This is all stuff that matters. If you plug the unit in before installing the driver's that will corrupt them. So you need to run the driver install first, and only when the install asks do you plug it in.

Also, with windows updates drivers can go corrupt. So that is why making sure you have the current drivers installed is important.
