Eridol not recording into Audacity

I have an Eridol FA-101 and a Mac OSX10.5 laptop, and I can’t get the recording to work. Actually, no, it worked ONCE, then I disconnected everything and reconnected, and now I can’t make it work again. What am I doing wrong? Here is my sequence:

Start up computer

Connect Eridol to DAT machine vis Optical in/out

Connect Eridol to Computer via Firewire

Make sure all Sys Prefs SOUND settings are set to Edirol
(A test play on the DAT shows that the output of the Eridol is being seen by the computer, as the Mac's sound output displays correctly the realtime amplitude.)

Start up program (Audacity) Make sure sound input and sample rate in Audacity is set correctly.

Hit play on DAT and Record on Audacity
-
Audacity does not record any sound.

Do you have the Edirol drivers selected in Audacity preferences?

If yes, then make certain that it is also selected in the tracks input section as well.

I don’t see where to select Edriol in tracks input section. I don’t see a tracks input section. I do have Edirol set in Audacity prefs.

This also doesn't work in Peak, so if you have any suggestions there as well, I'd appreciate it. Everything works up to the point where the software is supposed to record it. I get a signal showing in my audio input in Sound Prefs, but it doesn't show up in the software monitor.
