I just got familiar with the concept of "sends" and "receives".

i have drums(from ezdrummer midi) on one track, guitars on other 2.

what i want to do is have a different track for the reverb effect to which my drum signal will go ,get "reverbed" and return!how to go about it ?it's just so frustrating.

i end up with the effect playing the signal along with the original signal with a disgusting malfunction delay!

sigh!

Set up a track in Reaper with the reverb effect on it, set to 100% wet. Create a send to that track from your drum track, adjust the vol level of the effect track to mix with the dry track.

If your just working with a stereo drum track there really isn't much reason to do it that way, you'll get the same results just putting reverb effect on the drum track. If your drums are split to multiple tracks ie: snare, kick, toms, etc, then using sends make sense.

I don't use sends / receives for this. I set up a group, then put the tracks into that group. Then, put reverb onto the group.

Works dandy for me.

But, if you only have one drum track, just put the effect onto that track. Why complicate it with send/receive if you don't have to.

You should have sliders inside the effect itself, one for wet, one for dry. just slide them up down for control.

what's happening is when i have a seperate track for reverb which i want to use as a common effect for 2 guitars the original guitar tracks are playin' as well as the one through the auxillary bus(the reverb track).this is creating a lot of noise.

i just want a track with reverb which wets the signal and replaces the original guitar track with the wet signal and not playing back the wet signal along with the original guitar track.

knw wt i mean?it's a bi*** working with DAW!
