Hi There. I do not have a lot of money and so am still using Acid Pro 4.0. My setup is extremely primitive and consists of:

Acid Pro 4.0 software
Yamaha E313 midi keyboard
Yamaha UX16 usb-midi interface
cheap radioshack microphone
Windows XP Computer

I've been making some pretty decent music so far and have burned copies to listen to in my car. The problem, however, is that Acid only burns the royalty free samples I used in my song, and my vocals. It does not record the piano playing I did on the Yamaha keyboard. Very strange, because inside of Acid, I can play back the entire song including the tunes I played on the keyboard and it sounds fine. When it's time to burn the cd, it burns fine, and as soon as I get into the car, I hear none of the things I played on the piano coming through the speakers, even though I set them up to be extremely loud. What could the problem be? Any help with this matter would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks.

The mixdown part where ur missing piano sounds is becoz u have to convert ur midi into audio, someone will probably explain that in more detail since im not an Acid user.

if ur looking to record on that system and ur content sampling and using midi then ur set, coz its all about the quality of samples and VSTis ur using at this point if ur not looking to record anything.

if ur gonna do vocals u might need a better mic and preamp, but then again u could get a USB condensor mic and just use digital preamps as well.

I could always get better equipment and microphone when I have more cash. I realize the cd's I burn won't sound like studio quality but it's fun to create music with my own vocals and own piano playing. It's confusing because everything sounds great when Im inside of the acid program and the beat is playing through the speakers. Vocals sound fine, samples sound fine, my piano playing through the midi sounds fine. But all of a sudden when the cd is burning, it leaves out what I played on the piano. This is severely limiting my songs! I tried the alternative:

Sticking the microphone up to the speaker on the yamaha keyboard and recording my piano playing as a vocal track.

It burns onto the cd, but the sound is very inferior and flat sounding.

I do believe you can use a VSTi in Acid. You can simply assign the midi track to a piano VSTi or whatever instrument you are playing on your keyboard and have it right there in Acid.
