Ok gang. Here's my situation. I've recently aquired a bunch of new gear and now I'm trying to sort out the best way to hook it all up. When it was just my little ol' Digi 001, a POD and a mic or two, it was nice and easy. Now, things are much more complicated. So, rather than screw it all up on my own, I'm hoping I can get by with a little help from my friends. Everything that I have is listed in my profile. If someone can take a look and point me in the right direction, I would be forever greatful!
* Oh, and the ADAT listed in my profile is not being used so I don't even need to hook it up.

Mar 29, 2003 09:30 pm OK Blue, what exactly do you want to hook up?
Mar 30, 2003 01:05 pm I knew that question was a bit too vague! I pretty much have it figured out now. It was late and my mind was taking a break!

Mar 30, 2003 02:32 pm I thought you might. I wasnt sure what you were looking for, as you sounded like you knew what you were going for when you ordered the desk. But hey, you know you can always ask anyway.
Mar 30, 2003 07:43 pm I think the only question I still have is about using the patch bay. I've hear of a couple of different ways to go about it. It seems to make sense to me to simply run insert cables from all of the insert points on my board to banks in the patch bay and then run all the ins and outs of the outboard gear to the patch bay as well. Then I could basically patch any insert point to any outboard processor. Is this the right school of thought?

Mar 30, 2003 09:32 pm Yes it is, but you dont really need to run all the inserts to the bay. Although it is not a bad idea. It is really only necassary if you cant get at the plugs on your mixer. But if you are going to do that, remember to get a good bay like the Behringer PX 2000. It is set up with switches to easily change from Parallel to to Half normalled to normalled to open. For the inserts you will want to run either half normalled or normalled. It just depends on how you want the cirquit to be broken off when you plug in your FX. The only differance between half and regular normalled is that half allow signal to continue to be fed back through the mixer main and you can send a signal to an FX and into something else or another miser channel. Normalled will not allow signal to continue to flow throught the board when the upper front jack is used.
If you need a better explanation let me know.
