setting up outboard gear...

ok, say i have a compressor and an eq. if i want to compress, lets say vocals and a guitar that are recording at the same time will the one compressor work or will i have to have 2 of them? the same goes for the eq. how do i eq everything (after recorded right?) at the same time? i have a behringer mx2442a mixer, delta 44, and recording with cep. do i put both of them in inserts on the board and how do i assign it to different things? i am all lost!!!

well lets do this....this is waht i have...how would you set it up for home recording?

1.3 Ghz Computer
M-Audio Delta 44 sound card
Behringer MX2442A Mixer
Different mics and Guitar amps
(will have a compressor soon)
