Does anyone use protools and if so do you have a basic deverb setting that you use?

There aren't a lot of PT users around here. I haven't used DVERB myself, but I Googled around a bit and found a good article that details the parameters and has some tips:

Hey Brian, ya the article there will give you some good advice.

The thing is, you really don't say what exactly you'd be using it on. Reverb is such a personal taste thing really. And depending on the track type your using it on and exactly what effect your looking for.

On the PT thing, there are lots of reason's.

Myself, I don't use it here because I need to keep my system efficient and cost effective. To build the system I have now running Sonar 8 Producer Edition using PT and their proprietary hardware and pluggins would cost me over $30,000 or more.

No, your not using the wrong software. If I might ask, exactly how you ended up using PT? By someones recommendation or an add, or because that was what you were told that all the Pro studio's use?

I run a Pro studio here and don't use it. I have access to the system in other studio's if I need it. But I rarely ever do.

If I would have started out using PT and built the system and kept it upgraded to what I have now I would have spent enough to buy a couple of houses keeping it upgraded.

And that is money I can use toward doing a better job and charging less. My clients really kind of like that.

Long time since my last post but the best advice i can give you about Dverb is Dont use it, i even think the "D" stands for DAMN!, im not bashing protools since i only work with it, but regarding that reverb you will be better with anything else, dverb = nastiness.
