Recorded this live at a bar using a Fast Track Ultra 8R. Went into a Studio with some nice equipment and mixed it down. Let me know what you think?

I think it sounds very good! What "nice equipment" did you mix this down on?

Indeed, while I agree on the sounds very good. I'm curious as well.

You've really got some of the instruments spread pretty far out. Like one guitar that sits totally on the left and some keys on the right. How did you get the FOH guy to give you such a nice clean feed like that? I notice the drums are a little subdued but they still sound very good. the vocalist sounded very good as well.

Impressive indeed.

Thanks for the possitive feed back. I recorded this using a Fast Track Ultra 8R as I mentioned. Mic set up was

Stereo Overhead drum
Kick Drum

Direct out of Bass Amp (only choice i had)

Rhode Condenser for Percusion (bongos and other random toys he had)

AKG C414B-XL Condeser on guitar amp

SM57 on Keyboard amp

direct out from PA mixer for vocals ( She was using a sennheizer of some sort)

I just sat in the corner with my Macbook Pro and pro-tools m-powered.

Not sure exactly all the toys i used at the studio, but the main piece was a
Toft Audio Designs ATB Series Console - 16 Channel Mixer. Ran the bass and kick through some universal audio compressors. I believe it was a DBX compressor for the vocals. That's about it. Ran the recorded signal out from pro-tools HD into the console and acted like they were in the studio, and I was just getting the feed there.

Very nice. It still retains the live feel, like a small club. With the stuff panned as it is that is the feel it gives. I liked the sound you got for sure though. Nicely done.
