Mar 12, 2009 11:38 am I will want to check this on my monitors. Hopefully tonight, but we have a show, maybe tomorrow.
Mar 12, 2009 11:43 am To me, the newer one has better clarity on the low and high ends. Whatever you changed made a difference.

Mar 12, 2009 01:23 pm Ok, I gave it a "on the speakers at work" spin. The new mix is leaps and bounds above the previous, still want to hear on my monitors to check the lows, but definite improvement. I think that the second riff coming in is too quite though.

I was half expecting this statement to be accompanied with a picture of Angelina Jolie or something...

Mar 13, 2009 11:51 pm The 2nd one sounds better to me as well, fuller, better definition.

Mar 14, 2009 02:01 pm Yep, agreed. The newer version has more clarity then the older one indeed. Still a bit brittle in the mid's on the guitar track but it works.

Mar 16, 2009 05:45 pm Yep, there is no magic preset that will work on everything.
You can start with one of the presets in the VW but then I suggest tweaking it to get it closer to what you want.
Remember one big thing. Listen to it IN the mix. Don't depend on soloing the sound and getting it perfect that way. You can by all means solo it and get a sound you like. But then you will end up tweaking it in the mix to make it fit better.
