I found a pretty good deal on one of these locally and am considering it. As much as I understand this forum's stance on not necessarily needing Pro Tools in this day and age, my clients firmly believe otherwise so its either suplly the demand or watch as they take their business elsewhere.

Please let me know if you have any experience with this piece of equipment and any additional info. Thanks.

in that situation my honest answer is to have it in the rack so they can see it and tell them you use it but use whatever you want. "I just customized the theme" etc...

...you might need to have some dummy cables plugged into it... live sound guys often do something similar with volume controls...

Usually when people say protools they mean Protools TDM... but I've met people who had TDM who didn't know there was a difference between it an 'M-powered'... because they didn't actually understand that 'protools' comes in a variety of flavors.

If you are going to lose business (as dumb as that is) that would be the only reason I could see getting one.

I would like to see someone do Zeke's suggestion, have the client fall in love with the mix and then say "suprise!!!" :)

Although the hardware is not cheap it seems the software\plugs\codecs just keep on killing the wallet.
