Hey all, my brother builds websites for people and had me chop up one of my songs to fit a small video clip he put as an intro on the website and I wanted to share it with you since I haven't posted any material yet.

Mar 04, 2009 07:25 pm Of course! I'm wanting to finish one in particular and get it posted next but cold weather has made it difficult to stay in the studio long. Once it warms up a little I'll get it on here.

But it makes me want to move to Valley Heights now.

Mar 05, 2009 09:56 am What are these strings samples you use? It seems you only have violins on this, not cellos nor violas... Also, the drums sound quite real until this break that seems to be programmed. So, real drummer or what?
oh, you strip the third of the final chord. Brings a little chill I would maybe have done without...

Mar 05, 2009 11:09 am All of the instruments aside from the main piano are from a Roland JV-2080 which includes the drum kit also. The orchestral instruments are a product of the orchestral add-on card which is the only one I ended up putting in the unit. The main piano is patch 32 from the Roland A-90/EX which I use a lot. I am a real drummer also so when it comes to the drum line I do a lot of fine tuning to the drum line by altering the volume of individual hits to add a real drummer feel. Cymbal crashes and hi-hats are generally too loud to leave at "stock" volume so those and the snare I play with a lot. That little break you speak of is supposed to have a lead guitar part but I haven't added it yet which is why that part feels empty so good listening on your part. ;) I stripped the 3rd off the last chord to define strength because I wrote this song after coming out of a terrible relationship and the song is really a musical definition of my spirit and will to move on and "conquer" if you will - not in the battle sense but in the making it through the pain sense.
