Protools LE latency and buffer issues

I have a song that I mixed and thought it sounded great and was ready to move on. However, I recently came across some infomation about latency issues and from my understanding the info. stated that there is a "Low Latency" option under the operations tab that decreases that amount of latency in turn producing a better sound. I tried that and my overall mix did sound better. I also read that if you decrease the buffer sample size, that it should also help to improve that overall sound, so I decreased my buffer size from 512 to 128 and the overall sound is better. Can some one please give me some feedback on my situation. Thanks.

Ok, maybe my posting is a little confusing due to the lack of responses. What I'm looking for is some input on how the h/w buffer size affects the overall sound during the mixing stage. Is there a recommended size for the best sound, or does it depend on other factors. My session is 24bit, and I recorded at 44.1khz sample rate. If you are familiar with Protools LE, the help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
