Ive posted before asking about recommendations for studio monitors as mine are crap (edirol ma-15D's for under £100).
I was recommended Adam A7's and Dynaudio bm52's but ive been on the lookout for the last few months and havent been able to get any to fit in my budget so was wondering if anyone could recommend any slightly cheaper monitors?
Adam A7's seem to go in the uk for around £500 whereas the dynaudio's go for around £5-£600.
I think i would be prepared to part with around £300 (around $420 - goodness the pounds gone down!)
Anyone have any suggestions?
Cheers!

Jan 22, 2009 07:55 pm Have you looked into any of the newer KRK ones? I think they have a couple around that price range that would be great.
I use some of their older passive ones and love em. I've used the newer ones powered and they sound very good.

Jan 24, 2009 08:36 pm The HS80m is a good unit as well. Although in a tight room it is rear ported and needs proper placement to work and sound good. They do supply shaping control, which is for getting them to sound better in a not so perfect room. But it is merely a tone control really.
They are very much like the old NS10 that they made that was an industry standard more or less. Only because they were so terrible sounding. If you could make things sound good on them you were in like Flynn.
But yes, the HS80m are a pretty fair unit if you can get them at a decent price.
