Rosie O'Donnell's new variety show was canceled before the first episode was even finished airing...

She told them if it wasn't the highest rated show that night they wouldn't have to pay her, that is how confident she was people still liked her...well, it was the lowest, and, 15 minutes before the hour long show was over the exec in charge of it called her and said that not only are they not paying her, but that she was canceled.

Finally that loud mouthed idiot shot her own career in the foot with her stupid, hate filled rants and rages. People have finally gotten sick of that unfunny goofball.

She used to be a pretty funny stand-up comedienne. Back in the late 80s and early 90s, she hosted Stand Up Spotlight on VH1. She always got a few laughs out of me every time I saw her routine. Good timing, good material, and good facial/body expression.

But at some point she went totally batshit crazy and lost all perspective. I haven't seen her in any stand-up setting for a long time now, so I'm not sure if she can even pull that off any more. I haven't listened to anything that she's had to say for a long, long time now.

Yeah, some of her old standup was pretty funny, I forget about that stuff any more. She just went WAY too far overboard with the enormous ego she got somewhere down the line...she wound up being one of those that mistakenly thought people actually cared about her personal opinions on everything...lots of celebs start thinking they are some sort of authority on everything after a while.

Some do get very involved and do a lot of good, then some wind up like Rosie.

I agree. Too many celebs try to use their high public visibility as a soap box to spout their political viewpoints. Raising awareness about this or that is one thing, and can be a good use of celebrity status and cash flow. But I don't care about what Rosie's opinion is on whether Miller Lite tastes great or is less filling, much less care about her opinion on ANY political issue.

Its kind of like Linsay Lohan spouting political viewpoints on her MySpace page or whatever. It's not her job. Her job is to look pretty, act in movies, and let people take pictures when her nip flops out of her dress every once in a while.

Wow, that's too bad. I'm really going to miss her.

I can't believe I typed that without vomiting on my MacBook... Personally, I'd love to pull off a "Wonderful Life" scenario and find out what the world would be like if Rosie never existed. Or at least, made a different career choice. Like knitting or something.

I hope she curls up in a cabin in the mountains with no communication with the outside world for the rest of her days. She can take Streisand with her to keep he company.

Yeah MassiveMaster, she can be the next Uniboomer.

Can't we just take all of the has beens that are famous just for being famous, and send them back to obscurity where they belong?

Such as: Trump, Woopie, Rosie, Pairs, Lindsy, and Brittney.

I am sooooooo glad that they canceled Rosie's show only after one airing! Finally means that there is some type of justice out there.

I saw a commercial about Britney, she's got some type of show, where she says she's past her goofiness, and is now growing up.

Hopefully she's got her head on straight, and can get on with her life. I think we've all seen quite enough of her drunken boobery.

Now if we could just get the laws of entertainment adjusted so that all things popular have to be of high quality...

I know. Wish in one hand, etc.

Another thought... if all the hate-filled rants and rages went away, what would happen to AM radio?

Herb's vote: a return to the Big Band era!! My antique sets are starving for quality programming.

All the left wing stations would go away then...oh, wait, they can't keep one afloat, that's why they support the conjured up the "fairness doctrine", cuz it's not fair they can't keep a station above water.

Man, there is a station down here in an adjacent state that I can pick up after dark which comes DANGEROUSLY close to incitement of race wars. I will not supply any citations because I have to live here, thanks.

But let me tell ya, some of the Deep Southers are frightening people indeed. One of the local columnists has a very clever literary style that just barely covers his Klown suit.

All is pretty calm in my neighborhood though. I hope it stays so.

Ha ha, anyone who thinks they are that popular deserves to fail.

Saying that, I'd not heard of RoD before so I just wiki's her, some of her views seems fairly reasonable.

It's not about her views being unreasonable, it's how she goes about shoving them down everyone's throat, screaming and stomping her feet to get her point across...like any radical in any direction.

I agree with Herb's earlier statement: A return to the Big Band era will solve all of our problems.

Put someone with a Bobby Darin or Frank Sinatra sound on the dial, and people won't have any reason to complain.
