Mindisc Data disc 4 Tracks units - Disc full error

Hello out there.

Yeah I am still using this old Tascam 564 junker. Truly a fickle peice of technology.

I am getting an error message that the Minidisc I am working on is full. I can't see how it could be. I have only used 10 of the 37 minutes available on the thing. What is worse is that I am not done with my wee project here.

Any one have any ideas. I am totally stuck and I don't want to have to transfer the tracks out to another media only to put them back into a new MD.

I look forward toyour input.

Have you recorded 10 minutes on all 4 tracks. I believe the unit refers to total track time, as far as storage size linit goes. And if that is the case, then 10 minutes on 4 tracks is 40 minutes.

thanks for replying.

No you are wise to ask. Actually there are 3 three minute and change tracks totally just less than 10 mintues. Basically it is all one song that i kept bouncing.

I also tried taking out all the indexes and markers to see if that might free up some space. No dice. Stuck.

You may have a bad disk then. Or there is always the possibility of the disk having some information stored on it that you cannot read with the Tascam. Have you tried searching the disk for fragmented information?
