I have a Yamaha PSR-50, usb-midi into the pc using SampleTank 2. I've noticed when I use the program playing the PSR the volume is not as loud as using the cursor playing the on-screen keyboard. Using the PSR, SampleTank plays the sounds at a lower (almost half) volume level than if you use the mouse and play the programs keyboard. Is this normal? Or do I have something configured wrong? Thanks.

Oct 19, 2008 05:18 pm The keyboard is probably sending a lower velocity level. The keys on the keyboard are probably either not sending a full 127 velocity number to Sample Tank or you are not hitting them hard enough, or lastly the PSR does not send velocity messages so it is maybe receiving them at 120 or more likely 100. You can go into ST and adjust the velocity there or there is a slim chance you can tell the PSR to send 127 for full velocity. I don't think the PSR has any editable parameter's like that though, but the manual will tell you that.
But that is why it sounds quieter.
