Hey fellows, I'm Martín (the spanish for Martin) from Panama City, Panama,I'm 17 years old and I just became a member of homerecordingconnection.com. I'm planning on moving to Chile next year to study Sound Engineering. A month ago I bought over the internet my very first recording gear:
a Tascam US 1641 interface.
two Behringer C-2 condenser mics,
one Shure PG52
two Shure SM57
lots of xlr cables, stands and accesories.

Unfortunately I don't have enough cash to buy monitors, midi controller, etc, yet. Hopefully in the future i'll have my studio rig complete, in the meanwhile I'll be using my home theater's speakers as monitors. I think they sound pretty decent though www.hometheaterforum.com/...e/8492.imgcache

Well, I know my contribution to the forum hasn't been very rich neither interesting whatsoever, but it was just a way to say hello to everybody here hehe. I'm glad I finnally became a member. Well, I hope to know from you people soon, have a nice day and keep on rockin!

Greetings from Panama,
-Martín

Welcome aboard man, those C-2's were some of the best money I spent when starting out. Very nice first setup indeed.

On mixing with speakers, I've been there. Just getting to know them is the best you can do to avoid unbalanced mixes.

Welcome Martín. Chili is a long way from home. Any relatives over there or will you be on your own?

Greetings and welcome to HRC. You'll be glad to know your the first member (I think) from Panama. Chili is a wonderful place.

Indeed though, nice gear to start with. And yes, starting with speakers you know will be good. Once you move on the experience will help.

And indeed, Keep Rockin!
