Just wondering if they're a good company to deal with as I need to order quite a bit of equipment. Do they ship relatively fast?

thanks

I have on a couple occasions and they have been fast shipping, but I never have had to return anything, so I can't speak to that.

I've only placed one order with ZZounds, and it was fast and accurate. It was an item that was backordered on the Musician's Friend website but ZZounds had the item in stock. I don't think it took more than 4 or 5 days to recieve my order.

Another good thing about ZZounds is that if you visit their site via one of the links here on HRC.com, HRC gets a bit of commission in return for the click-through.

Another online retailer that gets great marks is Sweetwater. I'm sure that a couple of HRC regulars will jump in and relate their stories of dealing with Sweetwater. They always seem to impress the pants off of everybody that deals with them. Very knowledgeable staff that you can call and they'll help you through your entire order and setup. They'll even help suggest gear that's right for you. So for a large gear order like you're proposing, Sweetwater may be a good choice since they'll sit and work with you for as long as it takes for you to end up with the gear that'll make you happiest.

I've bought at least a half dozen products through Zzounds, and never had a problem.

I'll add in a +1 for sweetwater. Get a personal sales assistant, who'll get to know you and your setup, gear, etc.

Plus, if you get a sales engineer, they'll drop a bunch of $$$ off your order.

Fer instance. I bought a Taylor guitar, and they threw in a SM57 for 30$. I bought a gibson guitar and they threw in another 57 for 30$. (I didn't have any yet, so I needed a few).

When I bought my headphone amp, my SE dropped 20 or so off the price, plus I bought cables that he dropped around 20% off the listed price.

I have never had a problem with ZZounds, Sweetwater, Full Compass, or Musicians Friend.

All are great companies. But, I have to say that Full Compass has been my go to place for the hard to find item. Also, their prices seem to be slightly better, or very competitive.

I've bought quite a bit from ZZounds as well, and their service is quite good. I miss their old rating system for the gear though. Also, if you do some reading, a lot of the reviews seem to be pretty honest. I started going with them via OCRemix, since I like to support that particular scene.

And no worries, I subscribed for the pro membership here too, so HRC is getting some lovin'. =] It's just that...well...OCR came first -cough- honest! But yeah, all the online retailers mentioned so far are good to go by. ZZounds, musician's friend, full compass, sweetwater; they're all pretty big players, and have good service. Hell, I trust them more than some of the local places around here! :P
