Just picked up an xbox this weekend. What a blast. I knew that I would like COD4 since that is why I bought the game. Are any of you doing the xbox live thing?

Oh hell yeah, COD4 is the greatest thing to happen gamewise imo :) Great single player game and unmatched MP.

All my boyz have been kicking arse on COD4. You won't want to come up against them when their playing together. Tuna and his buddy used to go in against an onslaught with just the 2 of them and simply murder everyone is sight. They would always get booted by the poor loosers.

I'm not that good with it and prefer my PS3 second gen now. Racing baby, racing!!

I already hold 2 online records in a couple of the games. But I do like Unreal Tournament 3 online, it rocks.

I think CoD4 is the best FPS I've played. Its so immersive, the mission flow is excellent, the sound and voice acting is good, the weapons are a lot of fun to shoot, and the general gameplay is probably the best in existence.

I tried the multiplayer for a while but I just didn't have that much fun. I don't play as much as all those kids on there and I just end up getting my *** kicked. It's better than CoD2 was in MP, but I still can't compete.

Man, it took me 2 straight weeks of *** handing. Now for the most part I finish in the top 3 (been online since it came out). It is basically getting a gun you like and one of the most important things in any FPS, getting to know the maps.

An M16 with stopping power and iron sights is still my favorite weapon. Running a shotgun lately has been fun though.

Tripps, are you talking 17 kill's without being killed or????

Tuna loved the shotgun as well. It was always a blast to watch him just wander around and sneak up and off em en'mass.

Yeah, 17 without dying, that was a good game :) When I look at my friends it makes mine look dumb though (30+ kill streak????), so I don't look at there's anymore.

I do love that shotgun but it pisses me off. I watch my neighbor play and it seems people just wander in front of him while facing the other way and *booom* he gets tons of kills.

When I pick up a shotgun it seems like I only run into guys 100 yards off with a sniper rifle who knew I was coming :)

Beerhunter, accepted your friend invite last night but was playing baja. If you are on tonight we should hook up, just remember I am on AK time :) I have not been on much lately which really takes a toll on the skills. Seems like it takes a day or two to really get back in the groove.

One hour earlier than pacific. I just looked and saw you are from Vancouver, should not be a problem. I like to log in around 6-8pm, just depends on if the kid wants me to play :)

I'm playing through again on the next-to-hardest skill level on the SP. I haven't had a ton of time to spend on it but I still love playing this game.

Jeez, even the TV broadcast station on one of the first few levels took me like 30 attempts to pass. There's no place to hide from both direct fire and grenades, and I get shot every time I leave my cover to avoid getting blasted by a grenade.

Ugh, I can only imagine how hard the ferris wheel part is going to be at the end of "All Ghillied Up".

I am playing through on super duper and was stuck on the ferris wheel for a week. Tip, hide over behind the bumper cars, only place they can only rush from one side.

I was talking to a friend of mine just the other day about that level, and he suggested the same strategy. I'll have to give it a try when (if) I make it there!

Am I the only one who wishes that the SP campaigns of the entire CoD franchise should be about 3 times as long as they are?

I love me sum video game! It's the only vent I have for all of my life's frustrations. I've cursed more at video games than any other entity in existence.

Oh man when I was playing Tribes 2 in a league, I would swear that I came within an inch of blowing a sprocket and having a coronary due to extreme frustration.

The only other games to be on the recieving end of such anger were Ninja Gaiden and Castlevania on the original NES. I never did beat the final boss on Ninja Gaiden, even though I could make it all the way to him without dying once. Then I'd confront him and bang, bang, bang, bang, bang...all my extra lifes taken down within 60 seconds...I still get mad just thinking about it!

And I'm a nerd, not a dork :)

I thought the proper/politically correct term was "Geek" ?

I've done my fair share of cursing at games. Oh yeah. Never quite threw the controller at the tube, but I've seen my friend do just that. I still remember a small niche game (still around too) called Subspace. top-down multiplayer space shooter...with walls, and simulated weightlessness. It's freeware nowadays, and I haven't touched it in a few years, but yeah...that one got me going quite a few times. Never really got heavy into the multiplayer FPS genre though.

Ah well, while I do not own a deluXBox, me and my 4yr-old compy get along just fine. Cept for me it's long excursions into Guild Wars, with the occasional Stalker sidetrack.

I'm dying to play clear sky, but I think I'll have to pass until some of the modders squish some bugs, what with GSC pulling the same deal they did with the original game.

Oh right, and Hi, it's been awhile. :) have a few tracks cooking right now, but it's slow going finding the time and energy for them.

Clear Sky!!

I am playing the U.S. release with just the standard patch and I have really not run into the amount of issues I had with the original.

I agree the mods created are more than fantastic, but I did play through the first one without mods before a 2nd time through with.

Tripps, 30+ is pretty good as well.

But sadly Tuna and his buddy Mick have had 50+ nights, or mornings actually.

But that isn't even the best. My youngest has a buddy who has gone farther then that. But then again, that is the only game the kid plays. He is a good overall gamer, sucks at driving games though. But he is a diehard CoD player and has been for a while.

A 50 kill streak? 50 kills without dying? That is awesome, I am way too Rambo for that kind of score :)

I have had 70+ kills in a map before, but there were plenty of deaths to go along with it.

The one thing to take into account though is that Tuna and Mick would fire up the game on a Friday afternoon and then play straight on through until Sunday afternoon.

I guess if I invested that kind of time I might be able to score like that as well.
