MIDI Keyboard / FL Studio Trouble

Hi, I am trying to get my MIDI keyboard to work but am not having any luck, any help that is on offer would be greatly appreciated.

Details:
-Edirol pcr-30 MIDI keyboard (I am positive I have all the current drivers installed)

-Trying to make it work with FL Studio 6.0.8

-My computer has a creative X-Fi sound card so i have the keyboard plugged into the MIDI sockets on the front of my computer

Now when I have the keyboard turned on, FL Studio seems to recognise that it's there as it appears in list of available devices in the MIDI options. Yet no matter what I do, FL Studio does not register any MIDI signals when I press any of the keys.

Once again I would appreciate any help that is on offer.

Have you set the port up for midi in each track? OR have you set the actual port active in the main midi options section.

You also need to tell the track what channel to listen to for the midi note data and such.

I have the actual port active in the midi options section (I just selected port #1) and am able to map the volume controls on the keyboard to the fl mixer. However, even when they are not mapped, the midi light in the top left (next to the master level and pitch sliders) still flashes to show that the program is recieving signals. This does not happen for any of the actual keyboard keys.

I know how to assign a track to each channel but im not sure if im setting the port up for midi properly in each of those tracks.

OK, I'm not exactly sure how the tracks are set up in FL but there should be a box for midi port as well as midi channel. You need to set the port to #1 or whatever you are using, it may come up as a name as well. Then simply set the channel to what ever channel you wish to record and you should be good.
