The DMP3 is a nice little preamp, i use one fairly regularly and like it more and more. However the 1010LT is much more of an interface. Personally i would go with the 1010LT because it has 8 inputs (as opposed to only 2 on the audiophile). I cant speak on the usability of the 1010LT because i have never owned one, but I do have a pair of 1010's with the DMP3 that seems to work out nicely for what i use it for.
Aug 08, 2008 10:58 am Personally, I haven't talked to many folks that like the 1010lt, everybody likes the 1010, but the LT has it's issues, if memory serves...
Aug 08, 2008 11:59 am If you're looking for preamp quality, the DMP3 smokes the pres in the 1010LT. It's not even a fair fight.
Aug 08, 2008 12:25 pm The 2496 rocks, but it requires an outboard mic preamp.
Aug 08, 2008 12:26 pm Yep, the 2496 is a great card for a great price.

Aug 08, 2008 12:28 pm hmm, i used a 1010lt for quite a while, and it seemed to work quite well. I didn't use the preamps on it though, instead using a yama MG mixer for it's preamps, feeding into the 1010lt.
actually, it did have one major flaw, it didn't survive a house fire very well =).
To utilize the higher input count, you would still need more preamps to feed it, so you may be better with the DMP+AP. Keep your cost down, plus get a better preamp.
imho, ymmv, etc.
