Hello everyone.

At startup Pro Tools LE stops because it doesn't recognize my X-Station which is connected with a USB cable.
Please help.

Regards.

If you're running an M-Powered set up on XP Media Center or XP Server, or you're running Pro Tools Free, then god be with you.

If you're running Pro Tools (PT) on a Mac, then it should automatically pick it up, so long as you're using a legal version and your dongle is working right.

If you're running an M-Powered set up on Vista or XP, or even if you're running PT on a Mac, try this process:

1)Shut down the computer WITHOUT your PT dongle/interface and Novation USB plugged in. (Disconnect before shutdown.)

2) Before restart, plug in your dongle and interface into USB ports that connect directly to the motherboard (in the back of the computer.) Then restart the computer and open PT.

3) Plug in the Novation while PT is still open, wait about a minute, then close and restart PT.

PT should recognize it then. That worked with my buddies Korg Oasys.

Just a shot in the dark.

Hi.

Thank you for the answer Keith.
I am using Windows Vista but no dongle.
Do I have to use one?
I thought it is enough to connect the controller with a USB cable (which gives power and MIDI in / out connection) and run the software.

Regards.

If it is LE you should not need a dongle as that is the version supplied with numerous pieces of M-Powered hardware. But that may be were the problem lies. PT LE may not recognize the device and/or is throwing and error when it does try to connect to it.
