Im Very Stuck With A Horrible Mistake!!!

Ok so contrary to what you may believe I have been recording for about 5 years now but have made a horrible rookie mistake.

I record using:
M-Audio Delta 66 with OMNI breakout box
(only difference is that it has mic pre's)

Pro tools m-powered
G4 Powermac (dual 1.42 GHZ Processors, 2GB RAM)

So I started a new session with my interface clocked at 96Khz and the Pro Tools Session at 44.1Khz

After tracking the entire session (2 Songs) I realize that the time code is all screwed up and when I try to bounce it to an MP3 it plays all in slow motion.

What I've found out so far is that the files are recorded at 96Khz but Pro Tools labeled them 44.1Khz because that was what the session was set to. Now my question is what can I do to convert these files to 96Khz so that I can bounce them down to a 44.1 MP3 for a cd?

I have a header investigator program that you can supposedly change the .WAV files' header info but so far that hasn't worked either.

Any help anyone can give me would be much appreciated as I'm supposed to have these done by Friday at midnight.

Thanks in advance!

Ok, I'm not sure what the formula is but there is help out there.

If I remember right, the formula uses certain time compression/expansion and pitch plugins to correct. not sure

Do a search for the formula/workflow to fix this. we have had similar issues and have fixed it, so you're not completely screwed.

If i can get some info on it i will post it here, but start searching online.

How about, create a new session with the proper sample rate and then just import the files into it?

That is weird though, I have thrown different sample rates (sound FX etc.) in Audition before and it automatically converts them for me. It also tells me when my interface is not the same as the session.

Hey here's what we used to fix the 44.1/48k problem we've had. I know yours is more like 44.1/96k but the method might work if you change the ratio to represent your specific issue. Hope this helps

a studio my band went to a very long time ago had the same problem and he felt retarded about it too lol... i think he just did what CptTripps said. i think a wavelabs dither plug-in was involved too though, but i dont see how that could matter too much cuz that doesnt change the wav file, it just covers it... so i dunno

what about if you export or bounce from protools at 96khz, and the downsample it to 44.1khz in an external software?
