I need one to experiment with, so obviously I'd like it to be a lower priced one. Like Under $300. I was looking at the Berhdynamic one. But, does anyone have any other suggestions?
It'll be mainly for high gain type guitar that need low end clarity and high end bite.

Jul 07, 2008 01:00 pm I cant speak out of personal experience but Karma Audio does make a powered ribbon mic for $200. It's called the K6. I heard pretty good things about it and I think they have audio samples too. I have other Karma mics and they all seem to sound pretty good if used in the right setting, I'm sure it will be good enough to experiment with.

The one timexone is talking about is one I use a lot and it is killer. I have and have access to mic's that cost 5 time the price and this thing can out do some of them or equal others.
They are currently out of stock but I am told they will have some in shortly. It is an absolutely stunning ribbon mic for sure.

Jul 08, 2008 07:52 pm Ya, using their little K-Micro's ended up convincing me that they were building some stellar stuff. And indeed they are.
