Hi, i have a Multimix 8 firewire that I use for recording. I am trying to find a way to use it as my default midi output device as well as the audio ouput device (the latter i have already accomplished). Doing so would make a sound card in the computer completly unneccesary. To be honest, I really don't feel like spending any money to get a converter of some sort. Is there any programming that can trick the computer into thinking that it can output midi through the mixer?

Nope, there is no facility for midi on the Multimix 8 unit. If it is not built in there is no software on the planet that will fool it into thinking its a midi interface.

For that you will need to use something like the M-Audio Uno or other 1 in 1 out device to get midi i/o for what ever it is you need.
