Oh, man, it was fugly up north from us a ways. Were were actually just a few minutes behind the storm, we were up in Anoka ordering a playhouse for our kids, we left to head home (45 minute drive or so), and 10-20 minutes later they got hammered...in Hugo they had a tornado...lots of damage.

Thanks for inquiry and concern, it's appreciated, we had pretty fair weather down here south of the Twin Cities...

Good to hear! The news always makes it sound worse then what it is.

Thanks, dB...no it was north of us too.

Man, it was wicked though. I was watching KARE 11 coverage of it as it happened. It's not too often that the Meteorologists are actually scared.

I feel bad for the family that lost their two year-old son up in Hugo, MN. I think I heard that they found him in the pond out behind their totally flattened house.

Tragic.

Thanks for the positive energy...

Man that is sad to hear about the small child. My heart goes out to that family.

Glad to hear that everyone that belongs to the group is OK.

Ya know what's really sad is all the gawkers coming to town, kids strapped in their seats, parents with camcorders out the window, getting in the way of the emergency people just to get a gawk at other people's misery.

That is sad. I remember the day you came to help. Then I remember the days when everybody became affraid to help because of our twisted legal system. Now we have the days the jackles getting a contact high, like these events where staged for them on TV for their entertainment.

Yeah, I remember a storm that went thru our hood when I was a kid, 100 MPH straight line winds...when it was over, moms cried, kids were amazed, and dads fired up their chainsaws and went from house to house in a big posse sawing up everybody's fallen trees and carrying boats, campers and such back onto the right people's properties...then the moms and kids came out to haul brush and wood pieces out of the dads way...no gawkers, just a community pulling together...I spent a couple days just hauling wood, but hey, school was cancelled so it was all good.

Yep, my bro in law is just s tiny bit south of Hugo. I mean like 3/4 of a mile from were it got smacked. He said everyone up there was crappin tacks.

But indeed it is a sad thing for the family of the lost child and all the rest who suffered damage. There was another town that got hit even worse. Pretty much the entire town was flattened I guess. But Hugo was the center of the story. The media and all the gauckers should be smacked around some for getting in the way.

But like dB and Walt stated. I remember the days when you didn't just look you came to help and lend a hand.
