EM-U XMIDI 1x1 USB Interface problem

I am using a E-MU XMIDI 1x1 USB Interface to hook up my Nord Stage to my laptop. It has been working perfectly for about a year, but lately, it started doing a weird "clicking" sound everytime I press a key or turn a knob on my keyboard.

The problem is definitely coming from the E-MU cable since it stops doing the clicking sound everytime I unhook the cable. I also tried using the E-MU interface on my other keyboard and the clicking sound persists.

Would anybody have any idea how to fix this problem? Does that mean that the hardware is broken somehow?

Thanks,

Antoine

with these quadruple posts, you sure your true identity isn't 'reg.vire.exe?'

I apologize for the posts, I was having internet problems last night and kept getting errors, so I went back and hit submit again. My internet crashed after and I was never able to post anything. I didn't do this on purpose!

It could be something as simple as an update that changed the way the drivers are being handled by windows or possibly the midi driver got corrupted during an install of another piece of software or update.

You always want to hope the hardware isn't bunk but that is a possibility since you did try it on another machine with the same result.

I honestly don't know of a hardware fix for it, but you could try hitting the E-Mu site tech support and see if anyone else is having problems similar to yours.
