I downloaded "Shout" Isley Brothers in hopes of using it for da band to rehearse with and I got some [.m4a] file that none of my audio software will recognize. WTF? I have to cart my whole damn computer to the rehearsal and wire it into the PA to do this? Oh happy day. I just done did get an apple insearted anal-ly!

Apr 23, 2008 10:59 pm You are my HERO! I thinks I got it under control with that. ApplePod was the only place I could find the song. I thought for sure my 72 virgins were male :(
Apr 24, 2008 02:24 am .m4a is iTunes defualt file Walt, and iTunes has a convert to .mp3 feature.

Apr 24, 2008 08:18 am Thanks Colonel,
I between Herb's suggested prog and a routine I found in the player to make a cd, I can get by until I find the convert thing. Great to know it exists for sure. Now I know it's worth looking further. I thought for sure playing music for my bandmates had just become a new carieer choice.

Apr 24, 2008 12:33 pm Although Itunes has a convert to MP3 function, it does not work on the .m4a files. It states it cannot convert protected media or something like that.

Apr 24, 2008 08:04 pm The only one I see is convert to AAC. Is that like an Mp3 that comes up on top of the sort list?
Looks like something my wife would say...repeatedly.
Apr 24, 2008 09:03 pm Oh, go to 'preferences-importing' and change your file to mp3.
EDIT: thats 'preferences - advanced - importing'
