I have a Tascam Cd D4000MKII. When I try to duplicate a cd now I get buffer underrun. I've seen some info searching around that says these things aren't able to use 700mb disc only 650mb. Does anyone have any info on this problem. I'm hoping that maybe the fix is as simple as replacing the drives in the unit. Any suggestions?

If there isn't some sort of firmware update to add support, then you are out of luck, they are physically (or optically) two different media types...

How old is that unit? That was a pretty common problem a few years back...

It looks like this was around 2000. The problem has just recently started. I can't be sure I'm going to see if I can find some old 650mb cd's and see what happens.

I just thought about something I noticed that the media I'm using now is 52X speed, could they be too fast?

The speed is set by your burner. The number on the disk is the maximum burning speed the manufacturer thinks it can handle.
